Kým budu is a comprehensive web platform focused on career guidance for young people. It brings together a database of professions, an overview of secondary schools, a career test and a magazine with inspirational and educational content. The aim of the project is to help pupils and students better understand their strengths, explore future career opportunities and find a suitable path to further education. The platform also creates space for parents, teachers and companies involved in supporting young people with career choices.

Key features:

Career test

The simple test consists of questions focused on favourite school subjects, interests, strengths, preferred working environment and learning style. Once completed, it provides users with recommendations for suitable fields of study and professions.

Career catalogue

The extensive database presents individual professions across a wide range of sectors. For each role, users can find information about the nature of the work, working environment, required education, personal aptitudes and indicative salary levels.

School catalogue

The secondary school database allows users to search by field of study, region and school type. This makes it possible to follow up on a chosen profession and immediately look for specific schools that can provide the necessary education.

Connecting professions and education

One of the platform’s strongest features is the connection between career information and concrete study opportunities. Profession profiles include a “Where to study” section, while the school catalogue also recommends related professions. Users can therefore move between the questions of “what do I want to become?” and “where can I prepare for it?” within a single environment.

Magazine and educational content

The web is complemented by a regularly updated magazine featuring articles, interviews, reports and other content focused on technology, education, careers and the realities of different professions. Articles include the author, publication date, estimated reading time and sharing options.

Newsletter by visitor type

Students, parents, teachers and companies can all subscribe to updates. The form therefore allows the platform to distinguish between different visitor groups.

From career test to a specific profession

One of the main entry points to the platform is the career test, which guides users through a series of questions about their interests, abilities and work preferences in just a few minutes.

The test asks about favourite school subjects, ways of spending free time, motivation, preferred working environment, strengths and learning style. The result then serves as a basis for recommending suitable fields of study and professions.

Rather than starting with a static list of options, the website first helps young people think about what type of work might suit them.

A profession database with practical information

A major part of the platform is the profession catalogue, which gradually builds an overview of career opportunities across a wide range of sectors – from construction and engineering to IT, services, healthcare, gastronomy and agriculture.

Each profession has its own detailed profile. Users can learn what the job involves, what kind of environment it is performed in, what a typical working day may look like, what education is required and which qualities and skills are important for the role. Selected professions also include indicative information about earnings and career prospects.

The platform therefore does more than simply list job titles – it helps young people understand what individual professions actually involve and what they require.

Schools as the next step towards a career

The school database directly follows on from career selection. Users can filter by field of study, region and school type and then view specific study options.

The catalogue helps connect career inspiration with the practical question of where to obtain the required education. Individual school profiles provide basic information about the school’s focus and type of study.

The interconnected structure also plays an important role – profession profiles offer study options, while the school catalogue highlights related professions.

Content for students, parents and teachers

Kým budu is not built solely around databases. A significant part of the platform is its magazine, which regularly publishes articles about technology, education, the world of work and specific professions.

The content ranges from practical advice on choosing a school to interviews, career topics and popular educational articles about technologies, transport and manufacturing processes.

This allows the project to engage users repeatedly and deepen their interest in individual fields beyond the moment when they are choosing a school.

Connecting education, companies and career guidance

The project also focuses on the broader connection between students, parents, teachers and companies. Its creators describe the mission as an effort to connect education, industry and the public while showing young people the appeal of technical professions.

Partner organisations and companies also have their own space on the website. The partner section includes search and filtering by industry and education and presents participating companies across several technical and professional fields.

A content platform designed to grow

The entire website is built as an interconnected environment where users do not need to search for information across several separate sources. They can start with the career test, continue to a specific profession, find out what education is required and then search for a suitable school.

At the same time, they have access to the magazine, partner content and newsletter subscriptions. The platform therefore serves not only as a one-off career guide, but as a long-term source of inspiration and information for young people and those supporting them.

The result is a comprehensive career platform that brings together self-discovery, labour market information, education and inspirational content within a single web environment.

Young people can find out which professions match their interests, explore them in detail and continue directly to selecting a suitable school. Parents and teachers gain an additional source of information for career guidance, while companies receive a space to present the fields and professions they need to introduce to the next generation.
